As Field Leader of Humanities & Social Sciences at Imperial College London, most of my research focuses on education topics such as skills, multi-disciplinary working, and long-term impact.
Outside my day job, my research is largely historical, focusing on the workplace, management and technological issues. I am currently particularly interested in historical and historiographical endurance and revision – in other words, why some important historical people and events get remembered, others forgotten, and others loop in and out of history over time.
Related, I have researched, and am writing, the definitive biography of Charles E. Bedaux (1886-1944).
